Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have - life itself. -Walter Anderson
Art is nature speeded up and God slowed down. -Malcolm de Chazal
Part of growing up is just taking what you learn from that and moving on and not taking it to heart. -Beverley Mitchell
I tell you the past is a bucket of ashes, so live not in your yesterdays, no just for tomorrow, but in the here and now. Keep moving and forget the post mortems; and remember, no one can get the jump on the future. -Carl Sandburg
Keep your face always toward the sunshine - and shadows will fall behind you. -Walt Whitman
My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style. -Maya Angelou
Fam,
I haven't written in a moment due to some minor setbacks personally. If you keep up with me the long way, keep on hanging in. I appreciate it.
On 4/26 I had surgery to insert a pin into my fibula as it wasn't healing.
I have been in a boot since then and just got back to work last week... my humpdays over the last month hadn't really had me in a good headspace to write messages. Maybe I should have anyway? It helps someone sometimes right?
I digress, fam, I have really been thinking about my situation. Naw that ain't true I have been trying to move forward and not become mired in my situation. It hasn't been easy tho' it takes a strong will to not look down and keep looking past where you are. I miss driving, walking without a cane or limp, driving, dancing and just going. Now I think in terms of safety and lacks of what I can do or how to get around what I can't do. It's a different perspective.
Fam that's where I am coming from today. Take a different perspective, rather than thinking on how you can't do something, think of what you can do to overcome it and act on that. I am not where I want to be right now but got no idea of where I want to go so I am sitting down thinking about this 2/3/5 year plan and trying to look past walking with a cane, in a boot and scared of stairs. Fam climb them and don't look back. Don't be blind but realize we all become shortsighted at one time or another.
Tis Humpday, get up get past and get going,
If you see the camel push him down and when he asks "Why you be pushing on dis poor ol' camel?" Say "Cause it's humpday foo' and I gotta get to where I am goin! And Mike knows his name foo'!
-Cope
